Accessible Mountain Bike Facilities in Urban Areas
Necessity is the mother of innovation

Necessity is the mother of innovation.
When I worked on the WA State Mountain Bike Strategy in 2022, one of the key priorities identified was the need for more accessible mountain bike facilities in urban areas.
This picture is of the soon to be opened Redcliffe Bridge Community Space, which will see a pump track and mountain bike skills park located under the Redcliffe Bridge as part of the Tonkin Gap project.
This is a great innovation, using what would otherwise be under-utilised land and creating a family friendly community space, while addressing the need for more mountain bike facilities.
Will done to the team at Three Chillies on the design and everyone involved in bringing this innovation to life.
Can't wait to see it when it opens soon.
